Pre Diwali Skincare: Ways to take care of your Skin
India is a country of vast colors and celebrations, Diwali, being one of them, is just around the corner! It is a festival of golden and pretty lights, sparkling firecrackers and it spreads the message goodness. But a wonderful and fun night of Diwali can surely tire your skin out, if you do not prepare for it. With all he brightness and sparkles, Diwali also comes with a lot of smoke and pollution, and, ladies! It is enough to break the protection barrier of your skin! But my friends, there is a way:
A week before Diwali: Things to do for your skin:
As you prepare for the festival, start with your skin too. Not only it will save your skin from all the smoke and dirt, but it will protect it for a very long time! (I am serious, skincare is magic)
1. Hydrate your Skin
The most common way of ensuring the good health of your skin is to keep yourself hydrated. Dehydrated skin is a doorway to all the skin issues. Start by drinking adequate amount of water. Your skin will become softer and healthier. You’ll also notice a decrease in breakouts.
2. Cleanse and Exfoliate
Do not let your skin carry the dirt and excess oil, cleansing your skin daily and exfoliating twice a week will save your skin from all the dirt and pollution and provide a clearer and smoother surface. Always opt for a mild and soothing face scrub, it will get rid of the dirt without hurting your precious and sensitive pores!
Antioxidants fight and prevent the skin from acne, germs, pigmentation, premature ageing and what not! Basically, they are little skincare magic potions. They maintain the skin and have anti inflammatory properties. Indulge in food and skincare products that are rich in anti oxidants. Vitamin C and Tea Tree are the trending anti oxidants in the skincare industry. Sheet masks, face packs and serums rich in Vitamin C can do wonders for your skin. Smear your skin with tangy orange and lemon face packs, you will also get a Diwali ready brightness as vitamin C brightens the skin too! It is a Win-win! Tea tree oil fights bacteria and gives an overall germ protection. If you have acne, tea tree oil can save your skin from all the swelling, redness and pain.
However, these two anti oxidants can be strong for sensitive skin. If you decide to use vitamin C serum and tea tree oil directly on your skin, make sure you dilute them. You can also go for sheet masks rich in these two ingredients, they are soft, light and soothing.
4. Moisturizing everyday
Moisturizing is an essential part of a skincare routine. Always use a soft moisturizer right after cleansing and exfoliating no matter what your skin type is. A nice massage will also improve your blood circulation, making your skin healthy and radiant. Moisturizing helps keep the dryness and dehydration at bay. If you have an oily skin, always go for a water or gel based moisturizer, as it will not clog your pores.
These steps can ensure your skin a good health. A good skincare will rebuild the torn, dry and dead skin making it firmer and stronger, preventing it from further damage. Make sure you show love to your skin before you step out this Diwali.
